The Cre8ors World Comes To Life
Plus, why I called FrankDeGods a clown

Cre8or • \krē-ˈā-tər\ • noun
A person or thing that brings (something) new into existence. Welcome to the 280 Cre8ors who are reading this newsletter 👋
🧠 This weeks big idea is…
Creating our story together.
When I first found out about DeGods I was flipping NFTs daily and I thought they were some project dedicated to 2pac (no joke). I didn’t like the art but one of my friends told me about this guy named Frank that sounded super passionate and excited to build something different.
I didn’t mint them but I bought 5 from secondaries and I wanted to check out what’s the deal with this Frank guy. The first time I heard him speak, I called him a clown and sold all my DeGods. Safe to say that wasn’t the right choice. I was inexperienced and I thought he was not community-centered enough. I’ve learned much since then so let me tell you more about it…

So what does it REALLY mean to have a community-centered approach in web3?
This week we’ll be coming together to create our story. It’s one of the things I’m most excited about in our community-building process. Who we are, where we’re from, where we’re going, and most importantly what are we fighting for. These are just a few things that will be discussed this week and together with all of you, we will be laying the foundation for Cre8ors to start working on our visual identity. Just imagine a web3 community that creates its own story, art, product, and brand… It is going to be EPIC!
We keep hearing the word ‘’community’’ thrown around all the time. Everyone in web3 is vowing that the community is at the center of everything they do. But is that really true? What exactly shows if a project is putting its community at the heart of everything? Let’s find out…
Community is about actions, not words. It’s the level of communication, the community members' involvement in the decision-making process, and the ability to adapt to community feedback.
A project can’t be community-centered when it’s behind closed doors, ONLY delivering without the involvement of the community.
A project can’t be community-centered when the communication between the internal team and the community on decision-making is not frictionless.
A project can’t be community-centered when the strategies are rigid and not adaptable.
Once I realized that I didn’t know everything, there are no web3 experts, and no web3 degrees - my ability to lean on the real power of community came out. And that is the web3 way of doing everything.
Most projects build things before getting market validation. It’s a startup mistake that happens all the time. Now, communities can come together to design products that actually solve problems, because when you listen - you learn.
I’m really excited about the Cre8ors community building process because we don’t claim to have the solution to all of these problems, but rather we have the talent and resources needed to build solutions that the web3 community comes up with as a result of numerous feedback sessions and brainstorming meetings.
We want you to get involved with us - in the trenches of product & community building, so we created a slack channel (yes, I know…slack) where our community members that want to get more involved with what we’re doing have a space to work. Everyone who’s subscribed to the newsletter received a slack invite today. We’re looking forward to seeing many of you join the Cre8ors slack.
To build the Cre8ors community, art, product, and brand with us:
Join the Cre8ors Twitter Spaces to participate in creating our story.
There will be POAPs (Participation Reward NFTs) to win for every Twitter Space and Discord Stage. We’re also building a leaderboard for our community builders to easily track their progress.
We’ve reached 541 NFTs distributed so far and the top wallets hold 8 each. Remember that you need to stack these NFTs to later convert them to builder rewards.
🗞 In The News
Elon promises to make Twitter’s Algorithm public at the end of the month but puts out a disclaimer saying that it will be embarrassing at first for the world to see it. Well, dear Elon, we think this is the best decision you could have made and we’re confident Twitter will only get better after this milestone.
Blue-chip NFT projects firing themselves in the foot: there’s been a lot of talk about several NFT projects turning their backs on their web3 communities after these communities made them what they are. Remember what a community-centered project should do? Well, it seems like they forgot.
